Sheriff Judd has requested us to get together some BEEF Industry items from Polk County. The items will go in a basket to be presented at the National Sheriff's Convention. He and others in Law Enforcement understand the importance of our industry in Polk County.

Two PCCA members where selected to represent Polk County on this tour, Carlton Black and Scott Shoupe. Congratulations to these young cattlemen.

Polk County's Sheriffs Department recommends ear marking, ear tagging, or branding your cattle for identification of lost or stolen cattle.

News Hub Brief - by NCBA: LINK >>

"COOL” is in mandatory effect now. It should not hinder your ability to market your cattle. When taking cattle to Livestock Markets, you may be asked to sign an affidavit to prove that they are U.S. born and raised.

We are also looking for young ladies to represent Polk County in the “Sweetheart Contest” at the summer state meeting in Marco Island. The winner will represent Florida as the FCA Sweetheart. If you, or you know of anyone that is interested, contact one of the directors or Mary Helen Costine  mquatermoon@aol.com

We would like the membership to know that PCCW's traveling red barn will start it's County travels at Polk City Elementary School on Wednesday November 19th. The barn will be filled with cattle industry literature and items we purchased from NCBA and Beef Council. The barn will be a teaching tool for teachers to use during the 3 week time allotted at that school. The barn can be scheduled for appearance at special events if PCCW is notified ahead time.
Also a big thanks to all the women that brought desserts to the dinner. There was over 25 desserts supplied by ladies and made a huge hit with the crowd.

Thanks Again,
Mary Helen Costine
PCCW President
