Congress has voted to make "COOL" mandatory as of September
2008. There are many flaws in the program and it has been
delayed several times. In July Congress revised the 2008
Farm Bill which is still lacking in some areas but is now
better for cattlemen. You can read more about on NCBA here. NCBA, FCA, and PCCA do not
oppose the law, but would like the government to
implement some changes to make if fair and
user-friendly for our industry. One of the first steps
we can do as an industry is to complete the NAIS form here.
