With over 1.1 million head of beef cattle, Florida is the third largest beef-producing state east of the Mississippi River and is ranked 10th in the nation.

Florida Ranches of 1,000 or more head comprise 44 percent of the Florida beef cattle market.

Florida's vast cattle ranching and agribusiness operations make it primarily a commercial cow/calf producing state, with feeder calves shipped to stocker operations and feedlots located in other states.

Much of "Natural Florida" remains in the working landscape of Florida's cattle industry.

Wildlife and plant systems are well-balanced and thriving on Florida's ranchlands.
